Ia in 5 is even dumber than in 3. In fact if you don't download a mod it's absurd:it can spends two weeks geting in and out of a portal or a boat, and It will just suicide atracking a town. If you play against many Ia players you have to wait a lot, it's slow af. Both flight and teleportation appear to avoid all obstacles in their way, including terrain doodads, magical spells, and other creatures. Teleport also still has a range limited by the unit's speed, just as with the other two movement types, preventing Devils from being able to teleport across the entire battlefield without limit. get heroes 5,its much more stable. give heroes 6 a few years for the community to fix and balance the game as they did with 4/5. but if you seriously havent played HoMM3 i suggest getting that one from GoG and applying the HiRez mod, experience the incredible joy of playing HoMM3 for the very first time like most of us did 10+ years ago, like a virgin~~ HoMM 1. I've only played a beta from Might & Magic Heroes 6, but from what I seen I think it's worse that HoMM 5. HoMM 1 it's a much simplified HoMM 2. The same cartoonish graphics, but only 4 towns/races: Knight, Barbarian, Sorceress and Warlock. Only primary skills (Attack, Defense, Power Spell and Knowledge). Honestly, HoMM5 is Ubisofts best effort at the HoMM series. Its just HoMM3 has been my favorite since i was a kid. HoMM5 is definitively my second favorite. HoMM 5 did a really good thing (in my mind) by having 2 upgrade choices. Its a really cool aspect. HoMM 3 was just the peak of NWC and 3DOs hard work. . New to HoMM, should I start with 3 or 5? I've enjoyed King's Bounty and Disciples II, but for some reason never got around to playing HoMM. After doing some research, it seems that most fans agree HoMM3 is the best in the series, and HoMM5 is similar and a good game also. #1 I have 5 (I don't have 3)and am wondering what it is about the two games that makes many people say that 3 is so much better. The one thing that I don't like about 5 is that you don't really know what you should do, but if you don't do things the way they should be done there is little chance of winning. Let's say you had 30 available both Grand and Wood elf units in your Rampart and you want to save money when converting them to Sharpshooters. Step 1: Purchase 30 downgraded Wood Elves. Step 2: Have Gelu take the Wood Elves to the nearest Castle Fort Upgrade structure on the map. Overworld is very similar, and better in many ways. And despite being a brand new game, it has quite a ton of variety in content for the overworld. Quite a lot more structures/loot variety than default heroes 3 without mods. Combat though is a completely different game. It's just an autobattler, with spells.. I think heroes 4 is a great game, I did never like heroes 3, heroes 5 was ok and had good graphics and storyline. but I found it to hard (I never finished the campagins on the original or any of the expansions) and heroes 3 is way to hard for me, but heroes 4 is a really good game and I like the combat system alot. although it could use a
